The goal of this project was to bring awareness about Cyberbully to those who were playing the game. It consists of three worlds that one could explore: Ideal, where you go out and help others (NPCs) and they will change accordingly. Awareness, where a chain reaction occurs when you help one individual. They will then find anyone else who may not be aware of the situation and influence them about the struggles of cyberbully. And lastly, the Victim, where you play as the victim of cyberbully. In this world, you attempt to find help and support while others are putting you down with insults.
In this game, you can interact with NPCs by talking to them and getting to know who they are as a person. The more you talk to them, the more they will open up about themselves and will indicate the current state that they are in. The states available are: Uninfluenced, Influenced, Depressed, and Suicidal.
Overtime, the depressed will slowly lean more towards suicidal if they are not given help. It is the player’s job to help those who are depressed and suicidal. Eventually, those who are suicidal will disappear from the world. This game is also a reality check where you can’t help everyone. There are more than one person who is depressed and suicidal but you can only help so much by yourself. This is why you bring awareness to those around you to help counter cyberbully and support those who are victims.
